MASTER IT Technologies is an IT services and systems integration company in Ostrava, Czech Republic, working with public-sector and enterprise clients. It added smart parking to its portfolio with Fleximodo's surface-mounted IoT Parking Sensor Mini on LoRaWAN, with IoT-HUB as the data backend.

Why a surface-mounted sensor?
Because it avoids road cutting. An in-ground sensor needs a hole cored into the carriageway, and on Czech streets that brings excavation permits and road-closure coordination. Both add weeks or months before a single bay is monitored.
The Mini is fixed to the parking surface instead. Installation is quicker and needs no resurfacing. For an integrator taking its first smart parking projects to municipal clients, a short installation window makes it easier to show a working system early.
The Mini uses the same dual detection principle as Fleximodo's in-ground range: a 3-axis magnetometer paired with radar, with automatic temperature compensation so seasonal temperature swings do not trigger false occupancy events. It is rated for -40 to +85 °C.
Why LoRaWAN here?
LoRaWAN suits a company that can run network infrastructure. The sensors talk to gateways rather than to a mobile operator, so one set of gateways can cover several parking zones and the integrator keeps control of how data is routed. MASTER IT's background is IT infrastructure, so gateway planning and maintenance fall within skills it already has.
NB-IoT would remove the gateways but adds a SIM per sensor and depends on operator coverage at each bay. Fleximodo offers both, and the choice usually comes down to who will operate the network.
Why IoT-HUB rather than building a data pipeline?
It lets MASTER IT start with processed, ready-to-use data. IoT-HUB receives the raw sensor messages, turns them into occupancy states and health data (battery, connectivity), and exposes them through an API. MASTER IT can then spend its development time on the application its municipal client sees, such as a parking map or a report, rather than on decoding sensor payloads.
For another Czech deployment with a different set-up, see CROSS in Zlín, which uses NB-IoT sensors. Fleximodo's municipal parking solution page covers typical city use cases.
