Logisys is a Budapest company working across logistics, systems integration and IoT. Before offering smart parking to its customers in Hungary, it tested a single Fleximodo sensor. The rollout that followed used the same sensor model and the same remote management.
How the project developed
2025: a single-sensor pilot
The project started with one flush-mount IoT Parking Sensor Standard, installed level with the bay surface, with backend monitoring and DOTA remote firmware updates enabled. The unit could be supplied for NB-IoT or LoRaWAN, so Logisys could test whichever network suited its target sites.
The pilot was a full production configuration, not a cut-down sample. That let Logisys check the points that decide a larger project:
- Does detection hold up with the sensor buried in a real bay?
- Does the sensor stay attached to a Hungarian network?
- Does the data reach Logisys's systems in a usable format?
- Do remote firmware updates work in the field?
2026: production rollout
In 2026 Logisys moved to a production fleet of the same flush-mount sensor on NB-IoT. DOTA monitoring and remote updates carried over from the pilot, which matters more at fleet scale: without them, every firmware change would mean a site visit to each bay.
Every sensor uses Fleximodo's dual detection, a 3-axis magnetometer with radar, plus automatic temperature compensation so Hungarian summer heat and winter frost do not register as vehicles. The housing is IP68 and IK10, rated for loads up to 8 tonnes.
Lessons for similar sites
Test the real product, not a sample. A pilot unit with the same firmware, backend and update path as the production fleet answers production questions. A demo kit serves the same purpose for teams that want several device types to test.
Check the network where the sensors will live. NB-IoT coverage varies by operator and street. One sensor in a real bay shows whether it attaches and stays connected.
Plan remote management from day one. Flush-mount sensors are not easy to reach once installed. Confirming remote firmware updates on the pilot removes a large maintenance risk before the fleet goes in.
Confirm the data path before scaling. Integrators usually feed occupancy into their own portals or payment tools, so the API needs testing early.

Takeaway: one well-configured pilot sensor can answer the questions that decide a fleet rollout.
